THE ORIGIN OF THE BRAND NAME RIGOLETO

The BRAND NAME RIGOLETO® is a tribute to one of my horses Rigoleto (son of RAMIRO x LANDGRAF) and with whom I jumped several times a wall over 2,10m!

The world record in HIGH JUMP is 2,47m and was established the 5th of February 1949 and it’s until today an unbroken record for more than 58 years.

Rigoleto was bought as 2 year old stallion in Northern Germany, HOLSTEIN. He was a giant with an unlimited jump power.

Son of famous parents, and direct son of RAMIRO and with a mother by LANDGRAF he was a stallion that shined in 5 and 6 years categories with his unbelievable strength and agility in the jump.

Rigoleto jumping 2,10 m.

At the age of 7 years, his career was interrupted because of a terrible tumor that leaded to castration and that kept him out of the competitions for more than 1 year.

Again, and after spending spent long time to put him in shape again, only 1 year after his come back, a new injury caused by a splint bone forced us to two surgeries, as the 1st surgerie had not been successfull.

Imagine all the time I spent recovering several times and being alwqays motivated to get him back. This is what I call dedication to a horse!

Anyway, having only him, as the other young horses which I had bought meanwhile were still to young to compete, and motivated by his new 1,5 year absence from the national and international tracks the nearly impossible happened.

At the age of 11, with less spectacularity due to its castration and all the surgeries, but always aware of its duty, he obtained several classifications in National and International Grand PRIX aswell as he participated again in National Championships.
One day I, having always the dream to Jump 2m, I participated in a "Puissance" winning this one imedialtly. This day I discovevred that I had to specialize him in puissances and 6 bars, winning later on practically all in which participated.

A new injury took to his premature retreat from Sport (13 years). So I decided to take him back to its birth country to enjoy the splendid Black Forest where he lived until the age of 23 years.

Further I want to comment that my HORSE RIGOLETO, in 1995 after an abscene of 1 year, made me return to tracks in a time that I’d decided to quit horse riding after a disastrous fall with “RAMADAN” , followed by the death, in the last jump of the 1st day BIG COMPETITION of the 1994 LISBON International Competition (CSIO****), when apparently I was going to win this exact competiotion and having been the fastest up to this moment.

At this perioid I sold then all my horses and only RIGOLETO, churl, huge, enormous, was left because no one bought it.

Today I’m glad for this and dedicate him the BRAND!!!
